Terms of Service

Last updated: 24 October 2026

These Terms of Service ("Terms") are an agreement between you and {{LEGAL ENTITY}}, a {{LEGAL FORM}} registered under number {{REGISTRATION NUMBER}}, with its registered office at {{REGISTERED OFFICE}} ("we", "us"). We operate ReceiptMapper at receiptmapper.com (the "Service"). By creating an account or using the Service you accept these Terms. If you do not accept them, do not use the Service.

1. The Service

ReceiptMapper lets you upload images of receipts and invoices. An AI model reads each image and returns structured fields such as date, vendor, category, VAT, subtotal, total, currency and payment method. You can review and correct the result, copy it to your clipboard and export it as a CSV file. We may improve, change or remove features. Features marked "(coming soon)" are not part of any plan.

2. Eligibility and accounts

You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter a binding contract. If you use the Service for a business, you confirm you can bind that business. Give accurate details, keep your password secret and tell us if you suspect unauthorised access. You are responsible for activity under your account. One account per person.

3. Plans, credits and access period

Access to the tool needs a paid plan. Every plan is a one-time payment that includes a number of credits and a fixed access period, as shown on the Pricing page when you buy. 1 credit = 1 receipt or invoice processed by AI. A credit is spent when a receipt is submitted for processing. If processing fails on our side, the credit is returned.

  • Plans do not renew automatically. Nothing is charged again unless you buy another plan yourself. There is nothing to cancel.
  • If you buy another plan, the credits are added to your balance and the access end date is extended.
  • Unused credits expire when your access period ends.
  • Prices are in US dollars. Taxes may apply and are shown at checkout where required.

4. Payments

Payments are handled by Stripe, Inc. We never see or store your card number. Your plan is unlocked after the payment is confirmed by Stripe. If it does not unlock, contact us and we will fix it.

5. Refunds

Our Refund Policy forms part of these Terms. It does not reduce any right you have by law, including the 14-day right of withdrawal that consumers in the UK and EU may have.

6. Your content

You keep all rights in the receipts and invoices you upload and in the data extracted from them. You give us a limited licence to process them only to provide the Service to you. You confirm that you have the right to upload them and that doing so does not breach anyone's rights or any law, including data protection law for personal data that appears on documents. We never use your content to train AI models. Receipt images are sent to our AI provider to be read and are not kept after processing; the extracted text data stays in your account until you delete it or the retention period in our Privacy Policy ends.

6A. Our intellectual property

We own the ReceiptMapper software, design, text and branding. These Terms give you a right to use the Service for your own purposes while you have access. They do not give you any rights in, or any trademark rights over, anything of ours, and you may not copy or resell it except as the law allows.

7. AI output and your responsibility

The Service uses AI. AI output can be wrong, incomplete or misread, especially with handwriting, blur, folds, unusual layouts or low light. We highlight fields with low confidence, but we do not guarantee that any output is accurate. You must review the data before using it in accounts, tax returns, VAT filings or any other record. ReceiptMapper is not accounting, tax or legal advice and does not replace a qualified professional.

8. Acceptable use

You may not:

  • upload content that is unlawful, fraudulent or forged, or use the Service to create or alter false receipts or invoices;
  • upload adult or sexual content, or content that exploits or endangers children;
  • impersonate a person or business, or use the Service to deceive others;
  • upload documents you have no right to process;
  • probe, scan or test the Service for weaknesses without our written permission, or bypass limits, credits or security;
  • overload the Service, scrape it, resell access or credits, or reverse engineer it;
  • use the Service to build a competing product.

We may suspend or close accounts that break these rules. If we close your account for a serious breach, we may refuse a refund.

9. Availability

We work to keep the Service running but do not promise it will be uninterrupted or error free. We may carry out maintenance or change the Service. If we permanently discontinue the Service during your access period, we will refund the unused part of your plan on a pro rata basis.

10. Ending your account

We may suspend or end your access if you seriously or repeatedly break these Terms, if we must do so by law, or to protect the Service or other users. Where we can, we will tell you why first. You can delete your account at any time from your Account page. This removes your profile, extracted receipt data and remaining credits immediately and cannot be undone. Deleting an account does not by itself entitle you to a refund.

11. Liability

Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or your rights as a consumer. Subject to that, the Service is provided "as is", we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, loss of profit, or loss caused by relying on unreviewed AI output, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.

12. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms. If a change is material we will tell you by email or by a notice on the Service before it applies. If you keep using the Service after the change takes effect, you accept the updated Terms. The date at the top shows the latest version.

13. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of {{GOVERNING LAW}}. The courts of {{GOVERNING LAW}} have jurisdiction, except that if you are a consumer you may also bring a claim in the courts of the country where you live and keep the protection of its mandatory consumer laws.
